Split with IWU

The Cardinals were able to take Game 1 of a two game set thanks to the pitching of Mr. Reliable, Mike Kloss, and a surge of Cardinal offense late in the game to seal the deal. Once again Mike's consistency sparked our team and he pitched his butt off for us down in Bloomington. This was a big win for us seeing as how we haven't been able to pull of a "W" in over 4 seasons against the Titans of Illinois Wesleyan.

Game 2 was a bit of a different story and we dug ourselves a bit of a whole right off the bat. I think the thing we as a team (as well as individually) need to work on is to not be content with taking the front end of a double header and become more consistent for the entire day. I myself feel that this is something that I can work on. Becoming more consistent on the field is something I have admittedly struggled with for the first third of the season. Good thing for me is that part of the season is done and over with and if you live in the past in this game it will eat you up mentally.

For our ballclub we can only go up from here and taking a series from Wesleyan (along with taking a series from Elmhurst/taking a game from Wheaton) would be a great starting point. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and hope that we don't get too much snow tomorrow.
