Broken Record

I'm really getting tired of talking about it but this weather stinks! Not only did the weather wreak havoc with our practice schedule the entire fall, but most recently the rain forced the cancellation of the Riverwalk Series after only one game. The series was scheduled to be a best-of-3 format but after a gorgeous day for the series opener, the next two days were washed out.

Even though the series was cut short, the game that was played was full of positives. No, we didn't get to see everyone play (the player/managers were hoping to get in two more games) but the ones who did play showed a lot. The Black team took game one and ultimately the series by an 8-3 count. If it is fair to give a MVP award after one game then Joe Wietecha would have earned it. Wietecha went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and another two driven in. Oh yeah, he also swiped two bases. Sophomore/pitcher Tyler Herman picked up the win allowing zero runs scored on one hit in 2.0 innings pitched.
